What is Cinematic Marketing™? Advanced product placement. But instead of placing a product in a film, Handrawn Pictures creates a film around a product or marketing message. Viewers now choose to watch the advertisement-packaged-as-entertainment, and more readily buy into its message.

Example: NASA wants to draw more attention to their space program for young audiences. They create a reality series, for use on their website, which shows three “contestants” all vying for a position on the next shuttle mission. The series is exciting, while also illustrating the qualities that NASA requires for its astronauts.

Some methods of Cinematic Marketing™:

Corporate Documentary

A corporate documentary focuses on the core values of a corporation, the struggles it endured in order to succeed, and how these values translate to its target consumers. These documentaries put a face and a story to a product or service, and are highly successful in gaining consumer approval and loyalty.

Short Film

A short film uses a combination of documentary, narrative, or any other story structure to convey the desired message, whether directly or indirectly. Short films reach a large audience since they can be promoted and shared online, and require little time investment for the viewer.

Reality Series

Our reality series use real life scenarios to promote a product directly by showing the unique brand’s quality, endurance, and personality.These series are ideal for web distribution and allow a corporation to attract return visitors on a weekly/monthly basis. Best if used as a goal-oriented series (i.e., the NASA example above), they ideally run 5 – 10 episodes. And unlike TV reality series, ours lack any lowbrow melodrama that would detract from a brand’s credibility.
